Is Yahoo Answers UK and Ireland linked to the USA?

It's just I've seen lots of Americans here and lots of American English as well. I wonder if these are Americans living in the UK or if the site is actually linked to the Yahoo Answers USA.

Is Yahoo Answers UK and Ireland linked to the USA?
I'm in the USA and your question showed up, so I guess we are connected.

Take Care!
Reply:Yahoo does the option of answering "all English questions" which is what the paranoid Americans set it at and they get angry when you explain to them that although the question is indeed English, it does not apply to them.

They think they can control what people think about them but as I've said on many occasions, in fact I'm like a stuck CD now, that they are the dregs of humanity and their thoughts do not actually matter to me. Enjoy!
Reply:Yes. At the bottom of your Yahoo answers site, you will see all the countries that participate in this. There are a lot of them.

I love to read and learn from the UK answers.
Reply:Yes they are linked. UK/Ireland is restricted to questions originating from these areas, you don't usually see American questions on here, but anyone can answer them. So you will gets lots of US answers to the questions on this page..You sometimes get replies from Africa, Australia%26lt; New Zealand , It is English language based..On the lower left side of the page is a box where you can opt for UK/Ire questions only or all English questions which obviously cover a much wider area.
Reply:yep
Reply:I noticed this and I wondered why they don't use their own Yahoo rather than the UK/Ireland one but then we are obviously more fun and I do find it quite amusing when an American gets a bee in their bonnet regarding their so called wonderful country.

So if it was a choice as to whether they should leave us alone or not - well it is more entertaining with them but then... well I don't have to read some of the American chundering.
Reply:i think it must be because you see a lot of questions from Brits saying its a UK/Ireland site then you get the Americans on the defensive saying no, its our site. and vice versa.

but on the side of my screen it clearly states i am in UK/Ireland answers.

EDIT oh hallie, you not bad but please don't be so bloody pedantic.

EDIT deepfriedcatballs. shall i remind you how many incompetent US army troops have killed our soldiers in friendly fire. and you have the nerve to call us dumbasses!

EDIT hallie: you were rude to the questioner. you new what he meant but you made a feeble attempt to dress him down! why? you didn't offend me, sorry sweetheart but you just aint important enough to do that! besides why would the truth about grammar hurt me!!!!? i'm bewildered..lol.

HALLIE hallie babe, why get worked up, why bite, i don't dislike you. so you realised my missing k in knew, that is a first.you done nothing to me, but i doubt the poster has done anything to you. there is no need for pickiness. i wasn't nasty in the first instance, but i noticed because you are 'writer' you feel the need to pick up on grammatical mistakes. at least thats something we have in common, its a tough market isn't it?
Reply:Yes it is, which is why they answer questions incorrectly on British sport and politics, when they clearly know nowt about these things!
Reply:i
Reply:First of all, there is no such thing as American English. English is English is English (even though that wasn't!)

You have options of which questions you want to see on here. You can opt for UK and Ireland answers only, or you can opt for all English answers.

edit: I apologise if the truth offends you, Katie.

edit: No Katie, I didn't new what he meant, I knew what he meant. I wasn't rude to anyone, I just pointed out a fact. It isn't just this questioner, a lot of people have come out with that on this site and I just don't understand where it comes from. There is no such thing as American English, I wasn't picking on anyone, it is just a fact. I don't see him jumping down my throat, so what's your problem? I have done feck all to you. You obviously were offended by my grammar correction or you wouldn't have bothered mentioning it. If I don't agree with something, I just let it slide.

edit: Katie, I only do freelance for magazines, I'm not exactly Anne Rice and I never said I was. I wasn't picking on him, I just mentioned something I knew to be wrong. You say you don't dislike me, I don't dislike you, I wasn't picking on anyone, you say you weren't angry at me, so let's just have done with the snide comments and let it drop, yes?
Reply:no sh-it!! and you brits wonder why we think that you brits are dumbasses
