Is the Home Office now linked to the HM Revenue & Customs? (PLEASE READ ON)?

I am asking because my mates are students here and they work over 20 hours, would the Home office be aware of these students that work more they supposed to. My question is are these two systems now linked?

Thanks for all the answers

Is the Home Office now linked to the HM Revenue %26amp; Customs? (PLEASE READ ON)?
HM Revenue and Customs [recently joined up] are part of the Home Office set up, so they probably are linked in via a vast computer database.
Reply:I hope so
Reply:if working legally their NI number will be given to the inland revenue and they can tell from that as if they earn a certain limit they will pay tax and national insurance.
Reply:I am over in uk on a visa and any questions I have relating to it I have to ring the home office. However last time I was here on a 2 year working holiday visa I was only susposed to work part time hours but I ended up working full time hours at the same place for 2 years and I was never pulled up on it.
Reply:All government state sites home office, police customs etc, are linked

and I would doute weather they would be looking for any

legal students that are earning a few pound extra, when they

have enough on there plate just with the euro tunnel immigrants,

clinging on to anything that moves to get into this country.........
Reply:It is all linked my friend. The man is everywhere. They don't always act straight away but rest assured that every indiscretion is noted. My brother has just been through a tax investigation . You would not believe the things they knew.

Somethings they could only know by a phone tap. One has to assume that they are even reading this.
