Reply:you need to have input and output sockets in the turntable to go from cd out to turn table in, then turn table out to computer sound card in. depending on the connection present in your turntable you can buy appropriate cables. You might need two cables to get the job done. Unless one of your devices has rca input/output your current cable is worthless.
Reply:i see no reason to do this. for one a turntable has a differnt output signal "phono" and typically has a small ground wire as well.
If your goal is to hook everything into your pc i would do so with a reciever and/or preamp. they are realatively cheap %26lt;100. then hook everything into the reciever, and from the reciever's "rec out" to the pc. it may be possibel to plug the cd into the turntable/tapeplayer if it is a all in one unit. because then it is a reciever as well. look to see if there is a AUX connection if there is you can use that to plug your cd player in. or for a cheap way, get a car cd to tape adapter, and use that to plug the cd outputs literally into the tape decks tape tray. this may require a 1/8" stereo plug to a pair of RCA adapter (2-3 bucks at radio shack)
